School History

J.C. Mitchell Elementary School, located in Houston, Texas, is a public school serving students in grades PK-5.  It originally opened in 1966 and rebuilt in 2020 following damages from Hurricane Harvey.  It is known for its open, brightly colored learning spaces and extended learning areas.  The school has a high percentage of economically disadvantaged students and a large minority student population.
